Educate your consumers on wash off
Wash off is the top complaint from mulch customers. Colored mulch goes down looking one way, and — if it’s exposed to water too soon — may lose some of its color.
The challenge is many mulch consumers and end users are unaware the product needs a full day to dry in a landscape setting. So, Colorbiotics put together a side-by-side demonstration to emphasize the point. This video shows the difference between wet mulch and a product that’s been given a day to dry.
Would you paint your house if it’s raining?
No one would start painting the exterior of a house if it’s about to rain. The same principle applies to putting down colored mulch. The product is usually wet when it arrives for a landscaping project, and drying time is essential to withstand rain, sprinklers and even heavy dew over the years to come.
How do you dry it?
It’s easy. Make sure there’s no rain in the forecast for at least a day, and put down the colored mulch where you want it. That’s it. The product will dry on its own and protect the vibrant colors.
