Peak 301 Receives ‘It’s Sustainably Soy’ Certification
Peak 301, a soybean oil-based asphalt shingle solution from Colorbiotics, has been honored with the It’s Sustainably Soy certification from the Illinois Soybean Association.
It’s Sustainably Soy features soy-based products and the many benefits they provide. Colorbiotics is one of 21 companies nationally to have received the recognition.
“Through ongoing research and development, thoughtful executives and organizations can switch to soy-based solutions to reduce or avoid the need to use legacy, carbon-intense chemicals or complex compounds that carry an environmental impact,” said Todd Main, ISA Director of Market Development. “Every product that carries the It’s Sustainably Soy Certification uses a soy- or bio-based input that reduces the need to extract non-renewable resources like petroleum or mineral-based contents, in favor of products sourced and rooted in sustainable farming practices.”
Peak 301 entered the market in 2021 as a spray-on application to refresh aging asphalt shingles. The unique formula is guaranteed to extend the life of a roof at least six years by increasing the shingle’s flexibility and grit retention.
“We take pride in being an industry leader, and receiving the It’s Sustainably Soy certification is a nice recognition of that,” said Kent Rotert, vice president of Colorbiotics. “It’s important to us and to our customers to offer products that are not only of the highest quality but also natural and safe.”
