How To Market During The Off-Season
It's critical that seasonal business owners be diligent in developing key objectives during the off-season that will help them grow in the upcoming year. The off-season is a good time to identify new prospects and secure additional customers.
There are a few methods available to help get started on maintaining — and expanding — your customer base.
- Present new ideas. Conduct in-depth research about each prospect and prepare proposals specific to how the products and services you offer could help them grow their business. While this can be a time-consuming process, it's important to maintain communication with long-term, contracted customers. This is especially important at a time when you aren't as visible and other companies come courting.
- Show customers that you value their business. Develop a concise, informational newsletter, drop an occasional email, or send them a personal postcard. And be sure to inform them of any plans for expansion or equipment purchases.
By taking the time in the off-season to show your customers — both current and future — that you value them, you will be better prepared to satisfy their needs when the season begins again.
